1800 German Wooden Wardrobe
24 September 2018
Description

The apprised object is a typical Southern German wardrobe called "Bauernschrank" (Farmer´s wardrobe). The wardrobe is made out of pine wood and has iron metal fittings. The fittings show wonderfully a typical rococo decor. The wooden parts still have the original glaze which is quite rare. The upper profile parts is highly probably a later addition like the inner arrangement. Wardrobes like this were made in Lower Bavaria and the city Passau in the late 18th and in the 19th century. This piece is in good condition and there are no serious damages visible.

Hello Georg, I have added few more pics. Inside is a bit messy for all what I have in the wardrobe but I can remove everything if it is needed..

Dear Giulia,

Do you prefer the appraisal in English or German language?

With best regards,
Georg

English will be fine :)

Dear Giulia,

Thank you for the additional images and your patience. Sadly there are too many wardrobes like this on the market and too few buyers to reach a high market price.
This piece is in good condition and there are no serious damages visible.
An estimation would be between 800 to 1.600 EUR.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.

With best regards,
Georg

Thank you so much Georg. I read on the website you can also support the sale process, connect with Auction companies and leverage your website or ebay. Would you please help me understand the fees on this service and if you would reach out to local auctions for me or how does this really work?
Thank you

Dear Giulia,

in which area do you live exactly when I may ask?

With best regards,
Georg
