What does this mean?

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. The circular trinket box and cover was made in Egypt in 1941-1942. It shows the date letter for that year and the national mark "Cat" plus the Cairo assay office mark for silver of a purity of 900 / 1000. The incised design might be inspired by kufic script. Similar trinket boxes are offered regularly at auction. The estimate is based on current auction results. I hope the information provided was helpful to you.
