What does this mean?

This is a vintage 3rd quarter of the 20th century table lamp that has used a ginger jar in celadon as its base. This is a popular method, throughout the 20th and into the 21st century of re-purposing decorative ceramic wares in to utilitarian 'decorator' lamps. Where this celadon porcelain ginger jar was produced cannot be definitively stated without a view of any possible marking on the underside; it is Asian and possibly from Japan, China or Korea. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
