What does this mean?

This is a vintage, mid 20th century, porcelain vase from China that is done in a Famille Verte palette and features flowers and butterflies. The mark on the underside is stamped in red. The mark on this translates phonetically to Da Qing Qianlong Nian Zhi which is "Great Qing Dynasty, Qianlong Period, Made" in English. With marks on Chinese wares, the characters state a Dynasty after which the style of the item is made. In other words, the Dynasty or reign mentioned in the mark does not mean it was made during that time. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
