What does this mean?

This is a 20th century, about 1920s - 1930s, vitrine or display cabinet with ormolu, or gilt metal decorative mounts with curved glass sides and a lower register open display shelf. This is made in a French Louis XV style. You will want to check over the piece for a stamped signature of F. Linke, for Francois Linke (1855 - 1946). He built furniture in the Louis XV Revival style manner and his signed pieces sell for significant amounts. The stamped signature is sometimes located near the lock. The estimate here presumes this is not an F. Linke piece and the valuation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
