What does this mean?

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This is a french neo-renaissance kitchen cabinet or buffet. Different terms apply, depending on where you live. These impressive pieces of furniture were very fashionable in the 1880s and were used to display expensive porcelain and silverware. This walnut on oak kitchen cabinet was made most likely in France and not in Germany where the same style was en vogue at that time. This is a typical upper middle class furniture and was widely sold during the late 19th century.
This well built furniture could easily last another few hundred years, it is free of any modern glues and fully recycable. This positive aspect of antique furniture is hardly ever mentioned, so I do. The estimate is based on auction results of the past, retail prices might be higher. I hope the information provided was helpful to you.
