What does this mean?

This is a vintage 20th century, about 1930s, sideboard buffet that would have been part of a dining room set with matching table, chairs, and display cabinet that is done in a Jacobean Revival style. It is done in quarter-sawn oak veneer, not mahogany. This is not from the 1700'; the original Jacobean was in the 1600s, or 17th century. The Renaissance and Jacobean Revival styles were very popular for home decor in the beginning of the 20th century, and most 'modern' American homes decorated with this style. The piece is factiry manufactured, not hand-hewn. The estimate factors in the condition and is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
