What does this mean?

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a pair of japanese late 19th century paintings, the kakejiku or kakemono depicting groups of scholars discussing or drinking, signed lower right 谷等 an in a gourd shaped stamp 九谷 Kutani. Both paintings have been exposed to the light for a long time and have faded considerably. I couldn´t find any further information on the artist. The estimate is based on similar paintings by lesser known arstists offered or sold at auction. There is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to it.
