I have no idea what this is - I have 5 pcs (is it for salt at the table?) - if you turn them arround the slib is slightly lightgreen - not white, not grey - they have all different shapes, the same form and hight

What does this mean?

They are used for serving small pieces of different food at at japanese dinner. It is a different concept of eating. By placing the food on tiny plates you pay more attention to each bite. The plates in your possession were produced for daily use in Japan, not for export. The estimate is for the set of five, based on simlar offered or sold at auction.
