What does this mean?

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.

The item appraised is an American silverplate cased cutlery set, by Rogers Brothers. Founded in 1847, Rogers Brothers was a prolific silverplate maker in America. Your set is marked "Rogers Brothers" and "EP brass", which denotes that it is electroplated silver and not sterling. The terminal of the handles is a lovely cast floral and scrolling pattern.

Although the set is in good condition, the demand for silverplate is low due to the lack of inherent value in the metal.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I'm happy to help.

Kind regards,
Corey
