This is an antique, early 20th century, Edwardian era, 50 piece English sterling silver flatware set with hallmarks. The set was assayed in London and the silversmith's initials of IMS is attributed to John Marshall Spink. The pattern is similar to 'Old English'. The Spink family has a long metalsmithing history in England as they were founded in 1666 by John Spink. John Marshall Spink joined the firm in 1871 and registered IMS at various times between 1892 - 1913. The firm was sold to Christie's in 1993 then acquired by an investment group in Singapore in 2002.
