Thank you for the additional images and your patience. I am very sorry for the late reply, but regarding a technical issue, the new images were not displayed. I ask to excuse that. The apprised object is a painting made in oil on canvas with the measurements of 39 x 33 inches. It depicts two persons in front of a dark undefined background. An older man with a long beard bends down to a little blond girl and explains a rhyme or sentence in a book which is held by the girl. This scene depicts the story from the bible when Maria at the age of three years enters the Temple of Jerusalem and is educated by the archpriest Zachariah. A estimation and identification on the base of images are superficial but this painting could be painted by an artist of the Italian school in the second third of the 17th century. For example, the Genoese artist Bernando Strozzi and his school are comparable in style, motif, and depiction of this two characteristic persons, especially of the archpriest.
This piece is in medium condition and there are traces of a restoration visible.
A cautious estimation could be between 3.000 to 6.000 USD. If there would be more time invested in the research this estimate could be considerably higher.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
