Was purchased from an estate house in Carrying Place, Ontario. We were told it was sold by the great, great, great grandson of Sir Robert Peel. It was purchased in Senegal, Africa prior to his death in 1850

What does this mean?

A senegalese mask of current production, best described as so called "airport art". Unfortunately the story you were told is far from correct, to put it mildly. The mask is a very modern creation and the ballpoint pen inscription at the back is by a late 20th century hand.
